MADERA — Valley Children’s Hospital has been named a 2024 Leapfrog Top Children’s Hospital by the Leapfrog Group. As one of only eight children’s hospitals nationwide–and the only one in California–to receive this honor, Valley Children’s continues to set the benchmark for quality care and patient safety.

Firstly, the Leapfrog Top Children’s Hospital award ranks among the most competitive and respected distinctions in healthcare. For the 2024 awards, nearly 2,400 hospitals competed for this honor. Valley Children’s stood out for its exceptional performance in critical areas such as:

To qualify, hospitals must perform at the top of their peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which evaluates adherence to the highest standards of care. The rigorous methodology also includes transparency in reporting and metrics like infection rates and overuse of radiation.
