Health care leaders to gather in Malaysia

SOUTHEAST Asia’s health care sector is gearing up for a transformative gathering as International Healthcare Week (IHW) 2025 prepares to bring together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers in a landmark event focused on fostering innovation, strengthening cross-border collaboration, and accelerating investment in the region.
Scheduled for July 16-18 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (Mitec), this premier health care convergence organized by Informa Markets will showcase the complete spectrum of healthcare innovation through five integrated exhibitions.
CPHI South East Asia will highlight pharmaceutical supply chain solutions, while WHX Kuala Lumpur will focus on medical devices and hospital services. WHX Labs Kuala Lumpur will throw the spotlight on cutting-edge medical laboratory innovations, Medtec Southeast Asia will feature medical technology design and manufacturing, while Himss will explore the digital transformation of health care through AI and data-driven solutions.
The event’s significance is amplified by Malaysia’s dual role as host nation and Asean chair in 2025. With its strategic geographic position, booming medical tourism industry, and progressive health care policies, Malaysia is cementing its status as the region’s health care hub.
YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, chairman of Matrade, emphasized how IHW 2025 aligns with national and regional priorities.
“This event represents a unique opportunity to showcase Malaysia’s health care leadership while facilitating crucial partnerships that will shape the future of medicine across Southeast Asia,” he said.
Beyond the exhibition halls, attendees will have access to 125 conference sessions tackling pressing industry challenges. Topics range from digital health integration and pandemic preparedness to sustainable financing models and equitable care delivery. These discussions come at a critical juncture for Asean’s health care landscape, as member states work to balance technological advancement with accessibility and affordability.
Informa Markets Regional Portfolio Director in Asean, Rungphech Chitanuwat, said the gathering of health care stakeholders at IHW 2025 creates a dynamic ecosystem where startups can connect with investors, providers can evaluate next-generation technologies, and policymakers can harmonize regional health strategies.
“This landmark event represents a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of health care delivery in Southeast Asia and beyond,” he said.
